USAFE Airmen remember fallen at St. Mihiel
Thiaucourt, France -- 1st Lt. John L. Mitchell, brother of Brig. Gen. William "Billy" Mitchell, is one of 4,153 service members buried at the World War I St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial. His final resting place lays in Plot D, Row 1, Grave 4 of the 40.5-acre cemetery. U.S. Air Forces in Europe Airmen and other locals honored Mitchell and other U.S. service members during the annual Memorial Day ceremony May 27, 2012 at the World War I cemetery about 24 miles southwest of Metz, France.
