A-10s depart for US, Romania air tactics training

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Second Lt. Robert Carpenter, 81st Fighter Squadron pilot, goes through a pre-flight inspection outside a hardened aircraft shelter here before leaving for Exercise Dacian Thunder July 6. The 81st FS, along with members of the Romanian air force, are working together during the exercise to practice close-air-support and combat search and rescue techniques to build partnerships while mutually improving their capabilities.
