Suresnes American Cemetery
An honor guard, composed of Airmen from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and the French air force, post the colors during a Memorial Day ceremony at the Suresnes American Cemetery in a Memorial Day Ceremony, May 29, 2016. During the ceremony, speakers honored the shared sacrifices of U.S. and French service members fighting for each other’s freedom and security in a relationship that began more than 240 years ago in the American Revolutionary War. The cemetery is the final resting place for 1,565 Americans who fought and died in France during WWI and WWII. More than 200 civilians, military members and official delegates from Poland, Vietnam, Japan, Germany, France and the United States attended the event. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt.
