100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Some in darkness - some during the heat of the day, Airmen from RAF Mildenhall willingly gave 10 minutes of their time to support the Prisoner of War/ Missing in Action 24-hour vigil.

The base hosted the vigil as part of the annual POW/MIA Week of Remembrance, complete with a display of combat boots to represent the military members who have been captured or lost in past wars or conflicts. Each volunteer would read names of those still listed as missing for five minutes, and then stand guard at the memorial for an additional five minutes culminating in constant coverage.
