Little league opens with a home run

The opening day of Little League 2009  baseball kicked off here April 25.

The competition will be between seventeen teams of children ranging from ages 5-14 years old.

The first pitch was thrown out by Col. Phillip McDaniel, 39th Air Base Wing commander. 

Madison Hall, daughter of Lt. Col. Dwayne Hall, 39th Air Base Wing command post, sung the National Anthem during the opening ceremonies.

Also performing were the Lil' Divas cheerleaders, ages 5-8 years old, and the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders.

The Colts Cheerleaders were visiting here as part of the Armed Forces Entertainment tour and taught a cheer camp at the youth center. They also put on a variety show for the base populace.
