Mad Hatters support USAF Weapons School

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. --  The 492nd Fighter Squadron dedicated two of its F-15E Strike Eagles to fly in four-ship formations with students attending the United States Air Force Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada Sept 15. The Mad Hatters currently have three officers enrolled in the Weapons School's class and with the squadron in town participating in exercises Red Flag 16-4 and Green Flag 16-9, it’s leadership could think of no better opportunity than to fly with Weapon School over the next two weeks, for all that the school does for the Air Force and its leaders.

“We’re excited to be able to support and train alongside the Weapon School," said Lt. Col. Matthew Hund, 492nd Fighter Squadron commander. “The Weapon School is a "PhD" level course, turning the best instructors in the Air Force into the cutting edge tactician, the "Jedi Knights" of air power. Providing a two-ship of F-15Es to fly in concert with the school gives our aircrew the opportunity to train with the best, but also motivates them to become better."

The United States Air Force Weapons School trains tactical experts and leaders skilled in the art of integrated battle-space dominance across the land, air, space and cyber domains. Every six months, the school graduates approximately 100 Weapons Officers and enlisted specialists who are tactical system experts, weapons instructors and leaders of Airmen.
