It's true: all victims of sexual assault are not female. In fact, according to the DoD Annual Report on Sexual Assault, more than 12 percent of sexual assault victims are male. Underreporting of this crime poses a serious challenge to military readiness. Don't be blinded by stereotypes or stigmas; every Airmen is responsible for stepping in when something is not right, even in seemingly awkward situations. We all have a role in combating sexual assault. It is essential that every service member, from all levels of the military, knows that dignity and respect are core values we follow.
