CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti -- African Partnership Flight-Djibouti begins with opening ceremonies on Djibouti Air Base, Djibouti, Feb. 7.

The U.S. Air Force will co-host the five-day event with the Djiboutian air force and about 60 Airmen from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will participate.

African Partnership Flight is the premier program for delivering aviation security cooperation. The goal of the event is to discuss possible best practices of the neighboring nations and strengthen relationships among Airmen to improve regional security.

About 25 Airmen from USAFE-AFAFRICA and the 818th Mobility Support Advisory Squadron from McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, will facilitate workshops focused on load planning, flightline security, crash and fire procedures, and aircraft maintenance practices. Language barriers in the workshops will be overcome through the use of French/English translators and three U.S. Airmen from the Language Enabled Airmen Program.

Air chiefs from the five African nations and U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark D. Camerer, USAFE-AFAFRICA plans, programs and analyses director, will also visit their Airmen to observe workshop discussions.

In addition to the event on the Djiboutian Air Base, the USAFE Band ensemble Touch n' Go will be performing outreach concerts in the local community and troop-morale concerts on Camp Lemonnier.
