Real-life training prepares Airmen for real-life threats
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Shannon Smith, left, 100th Maintenance Group maintenance analyst, and U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Nicholas Vidmar, 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, practice the “fight” response to an active shooter during expeditionary active shooter training Nov. 23, 2015, on RAF Feltwell, England. The new training, implemented Oct. 1, is designed to prepare deploying Airmen for an environment where firearms are potentially more prevalent, meaning they might be armed and have to protect themselves and others from the threat of an active shooter.
