RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany --  Lt. Gen. Jason T. Hinds assumed command of U.S. Air Forces Europe-Air Forces Africa and NATO Allied Air Command in a ceremony Oct. 31, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate on Oct. 30. 
  
Hinds will also serve as Joint Air Power Competence Centre director based out of Kalkar, Germany.  
 
USAFE-AFAFRICA is the air component responsible for delivering full-spectrum warfighting capabilities to U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command, across an area of responsibility encompassing 104 nations in Europe, Africa, and Asia as well as the Arctic and Atlantic regions. 
  
Hinds previously served as the USAFE-AFAFRICA deputy commander.
