RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- U.S. Air Force Gen. James B. Hecker, U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa, commander, spoke with Kenya Air Force commander, Maj. Gen. Fatuma Ahmed, Aug. 22, to discuss their growing partnership and congratulate her on her new position as Kenya’s air chief.
Along with reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to hosting the first operational Association of African Air Forces Exercise in 2026, the commanders discussed operationalizing the Association of African Air Forces, advocating for increased Air Ground Integration, air force modernization, and enhancing Inter European Air Force Academy Officer and NCO Development.
The United States and Kenya have a longstanding shared interest in regional security and stability, and that commitment is reflected in our continued partnership on regional and global security issues.
