SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- U.S. Air Force General James Hecker, Commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa, visited the 80th Flying Training Wing to address airmen and leadership from Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program on Aug. 2.
As part of his visit, he delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony for Class 24-07.

“You who are graduating from here are the ones I’m counting on to execute the mission and face tomorrow’s threats,” said Hecker.
General Hecker is a distinguished alumnus of ENJJPT, having graduated in November 1990 as part of Class 91-01, highlighted the unique mission of the program. He emphasized its role in training NATO pilots and equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the operational environment.
“Training together and fighting together makes all of us a more capable force,” said Hecker.
During his meeting with leadership, General Hecker discussed the strategic importance of ENJJPT, focusing on preparing pilots for NATO forces.
"The pilots we are training here will be solving our future nations’ problems," said Hecker. "We need to teach them to be innovative while being highly skilled pilots."
He underscored the vital importance of training with allies and partners in maintaining international partnerships to promote global security.
In his concluding remarks at the graduation ceremony, General Hecker expressed his pride in the graduating class.
