USAFE announces nominees for AFA aerospace awards Published March 15, 2006 By USAFE News Service RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (USAFENS) -- U.S. Air Forces in Europe recently announced the command’s nominees for the 2005 Air Force Association Aerospace Awards. The nominees are: Citation of Honor: 48th Explosive Ordnance Flight, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England Citations of Honor recognize outstanding contributions to national defense significantly exceeding standard performance. The Hoyt S. Vandenberg Award: 38th Combat Support Center, Sembach Air Base, Germany The Hoyt S. Vandenberg Award recognizes the most outstanding contribution to national defense in the field of aerospace education or training. The David C. Schilling Award: 494th Fighter Squadron, RAF Lakenheath The David C. Schilling Award recognizes the most outstanding contribution to national defense in the field of manned flight in the atmosphere or space. Nominees will now compete at the Air Force-level.
