USAFE acquires new standard for processing IT requirements Published March 15, 2006 By Master Sgt. Chazz Steiner USAFE Computer Systems Squadron RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (USAFENS) -- Work requests for communications requirements across USAFE will soon be done using a new web-based processing system. The Process, Workflow, Requirements and Resources Manager will replace all current electronic communications request systems used by communications units throughout the command beginning March 1. Customers will be able to create their own accounts as well as submit and track their requirements to completion using the new system, said 1st Lt. Christopher Bryant, the USAFE Communications Systems Squadron project manager assisting in deploying the new system. “From the customer’s perspective, PWRR Manager will do everything the current automated communications request systems are capable of, and eventually more,” he said. “PWRR Manager allows for complete visibility.” However, there are a few differences, said the lieutenant. “The immediate difference is the customer interface,” he said. “The screen layout uses tabs to group components of the requirement throughout processing. An audit log tracks all updates, and suspense dates help to keep the requirement flowing through the system to completion.” PWRR Manager is the command-wide standard for processing IT requirements, said Col. Steven Spano, Director of Communications and Information in USAFE. “Theater-wide implementation of PWRR Manager will reduce the number of locally-developed systems within USAFE.” While some USAFE bases may have started using PWRR Manager as early as Jan. 1, all users within the command should be using the new system by March 1. Although local systems will no longer accept new requirements after the base cut-over date, all open requirements will be processed in the existing system until they are closed. “Our goal is to minimize the disruption to our users during the transition period,” Lieutenant Bryant said. Customers can access the PWRR Manager through the Air Force Portal, said Lieutenant Bryant. Once logged on to the portal, a link to the USAFE PWRR Manager can be found in the “Unique to Us” section under the “My Org” page.
