A Ramstein Air Base, Germany, organization was recently recognized as the 2005 Lean Recognition Award winner for the command.

The 86th Maintenance Group was chosen as the USAFE-level award winner for innovative streamlining of processes and organizing work environments to improve productivity, cut costs and improve the quality of life in the work place.

The award, which is new for 2005, is an Office of the Secretary of Defense award recognizing a service depot and base-level organization as “best in class” for lean process improvement.

The group will now compete at the Air Force-level competition.
