Aviano unit receives DOD-level award

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (USAFENS) -- The Department of Defense recently announced the winners of the Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards for 2005 and a U.S. Air Forces in Europe unit come out on top.

The 31st Maintenance Operations Squadron, Aviano Air Base, Italy, was recognized as a DOD-level award winner in the small unit category.

The Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards Program recognizes outstanding achievements in military equipment and weapon systems maintenance by field-level organizations of the military services.
