A military spouse from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, was recently honored as the recipient of the 2005 Joan Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year award.

The honoree, Cynthia Roberts, wife of Capt. Clay A. Roberts, 86th Contingency Response Group, distinguished herself as president of the Ramstein Officer Spouses Club. Taking reins of the largest spouses club in the Air Force, she organized the ROSC members to contribute more than 200 volunteer hours at the Ramstein AB post office. In addition, she personally managed a $5,000 makeover of the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center emergency patient room and converted it into a pediatrics room.

Mrs. Roberts will receive her award from the Air Force Association during the Air and Space Conference and Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C., later this year.
