USAFE band, RMTP team receive ACE coins

Members of U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band Touch ‘n Go and the Rhein-Main Transition Program Team received Airmen Committed to Excellence coins here recently.

The ACE award recognizes USAFE Airmen for hard work and dedication to the mission and consists of a large medallion engraved with the recipient’s name and sequentially numbered by order.

Gen. Tom Hobbins, USAFE commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Gary Coleman, USAFE command chief master sergeant presented members of USAFE band Touch ‘n Go with the coins at the USAFE 2005 Outstanding Airmen of the Year banquet March 24.

Band members are: Master Sgt. Jon Levy, Master Sgt. Joe Ott, Tech. Sgt. Dodd Martin, Tech. Sgt. Toby McWilliams, Tech. Sgt. Tom Shriver, Staff Sgt. Geoff Fisher, Staff Sgt. Keisha Gwin-Goodin, Staff Sgt. Jerry Birkenmeier, Staff Sgt. Mike Smith, Staff Sgt. Amy Moran and Staff Sgt. Jeremy Grant.

The musical ensemble was recognized for their constant support to command bases, deployed troops and foreign audiences all over the world.

Lt. Gen. Rod Bishop, USAFE vice commander, and Chief Coleman presented coins to the Rhein-Main Transition Program Team at a staff call March 28. The seven individuals identified as key contributors to the success of the program are: Petra Schmidt, Dave Grube, John Thompson, Joe Ventrice, Lt. Col. Greg Petrequin, Chuck Williams and Col. Tom Schnee.

The RMTP team was recognized for executing the Rhein-Main Closure Agreement, replicating Rhein-Main Air Base strategic airlift capabilities at Ramstein and Spangdahlem Air Bases, and returning Rhein-Main Air Base to the Federal Republic of Germany, while simultaneously ensuring continuous strategic airlift support to warfighters downrange.
