The 2007 General Eugene L. Eubank Evaluation Published Feb. 1, 2007 By Luis Hernandez and Vicki Haskins 39th Services Squadron community support flight chief and family member programs flight chief respec INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The 39th Services Squadron, commanded by Lt. Col. Dale Bruner, is focusing in on winning its third Gen. Eugene L. Eubank Award in the past five years. This award recognizes the best small services squadron in the Air Force. The significance of this award is that it recognizes team effort and doesn't single out any one or any group of individuals. It primarily recognizes the integration of services functions into the overall Team Incirlik and 39th Air Base Wing's mission. This evaluation really reflects the entire wing's efforts to prepare and execute the mission. Incirlik's readiness relies heavily on the products and services that affect our fighting forces' morale and mental state of mind. Whether it be the child development center, fitness center, dining facility, or any of its 17 other facilities, the 39th SVS' goals are consistent and aligned with the wing's readiness goals. The Eubank Award is judged by a panel of four evaluators that will arrive here Saturday and evaluate the services squadron thru Wednesday. Customer Service is a primary concern for the evaluation. Incirlik team members can participate in the evaluation and are encouraged to express the significance of services' integration with the overall mission and how services contributes to their individual readiness efforts. Routinely, we hear compliments about our recreation programs and efforts to provide positive alternatives for family members during this assignment. The evaluation team needs to hear it from the customer. Tell them the story we hear routinely thru surveys, customer comments, and face to face. Tell them about the impact of world-class entertainment, about the base-wide family events, about the recreational alternatives and the cultural tours that make Incirlik a terrific assignment. Tell them about the fun you share while bowling and golfing and about the efforts taken to care for your dependents while you are deployed or working long shifts. Where would we be without the youth center, the CDC, the library, or the arts and crafts center? Where would you fix your vehicle without the auto hobby shop? You, the customer, need to tell the story. "Best in Air Force" means "taking care of you." The award evaluates the services squadron, but it also recognizes the wing's team efforts to make Incirlik a great assignment and how the 39th ABW provides for every aspect of its members' well being and contributes to their readiness posture. It isn't an inspection, but a snap shot of one of the many issues that make this wing one of "The Best in Air Force." It's all about the team and we have a great one.
