2007 USAFE Youth of the Year Published June 28, 2007 By USAFE Services SEMBACH AIR BASE, Germany -- USAFE Services is proud to announce that Mary-Lynn Piper, age 17, of Spangdahlem AB, Germany, was selected as the 2007 USAFE Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year Program recognizes superior leadership skills, academic achievement and outstanding service to the community. By receiving this honor, Ms. Piper is awarded a $3,000 scholarship for post high school education. Ms. Piper was selected from candidates from a variety of USAFE bases for her outstanding service to Spangdahlem Youth Programs, community, her academic achievements, moral, and ethical character, and family values. Ms. Piper will compete for the European Youth of the Year honors with USAREUR and NAVEUR Youth of the Year winners. Should she be selected as the European Youth of the Year, she will travel to the U.S. to compete at the regional level Boys and Girls Clubs Of America Youth of the Year Program.
