Prepare for anything Published July 23, 2007 By Special RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- An influenza pandemic occurs when a new flu virus emerges among humans and spreads easily from person to person. Because the virus is new to humans, people have little or no immunity to it and the virus spreads worldwide. It is not possible to predict with certainty when the next flu pandemic will occur or how severe it will be, so it's beneficial to be prepared for anything. Preparing for a pandemic is not unlike preparing for hurricane season. This checklist will help you gather the information and resources you may need in case of a flu pandemic.
