The 31st Services Squadron recently topped the Air Force's best of the best list, winning the prestigious Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubanks award.

"It takes a lot of people with different talents but a common purpose to perform our mission effectively," said Maj. David Kretz, 31st SVS commander. "It's great to see their hard work and positive attitudes rewarded by being recognized as the best of the best. I couldn't be more proud of our team."

An evaluation team visited the squadron earlier this year and graded the services squadron on customer focus, programs, management, facilities and equipment. Among the services squadron's numerous accomplishments, they won more than 10 USAFE awards last year and the Mountain View Lodge took home the Air Force Innkeeper award for superior service.

The Eubanks award can be traced back to 1965 when the Order of Daedalians Foundation established the LeMay Award as special recognition for excellence in programming and service.

The prestigious award was named in honor of Gen. Curtis E. LeMay, who in addition to his aviation accomplishments, had a life-long interest in support provided by Air Force Services personnel around the globe. In 1990, the Order of Daedalians established the small base category award called the Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank Trophy for Services excellence, while the large base category retained the Gen. Curtis E. LeMay Trophy for Services Excellence.

The services squadron will be recognized for their accomplishments June 12 during the Air Force Manpower, Personnel, and Services Worldwide Conference in Keystone, Colo.
