A lot of jumping, pushing, crunching and running set the stage for a creative way of raising money for the Combined Federal Campaign during a PT-A-Thon held at the Dragon Fitness Center here Nov. 25.

More than 150 Airmen participated in the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron sponsored event, raising more than $3,000 for the CFC. The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations.

"This event was for people to have fun and participate in something that is for a good cause," said Tech. Sgt. Jose Munoz-Vargas, the PT-A-Thon coordinator. "I've personally benefited from these [CFC] programs and it feels good to be able to give back."

Participants were required to complete a minimum of five minutes of jumping jacks, push-ups and sit-ups and a 30-minute run. Each participant had sponsors pledge money depending what they did.

"It was fun to be out there with everyone and be a part of this fundraiser," said participant Airman 1st Class Wesley Ramsey. "Helping others who are not as fortunate as us ... it makes you feel good."

For Sergeant Munoz-Vargas, he feels blessed he has the opportunity to help.

"We are a very blessed people in the military," said Sergeant Munoz-Vargas. "I believe we are blessed so that we can be a blessing."
