Reward offered for Airman Basic Parrott

RAF LAKENHEATH, England --  
A $10,000 reward has been offered to anyone with information which leads directly to the capture of Airman Basic Jeremy Parrott.

Parrott, 29, was convicted of possessing child pornography July 2, and escaped from his escort shortly after attending a medical appointment here Sept. 24.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations, as with other federal state and local law enforcement entities has the ability to offer rewards for information and has done so in the past where cases have warranted.

The AFOSI commander has the approval authority for rewards like this, said Special Agent Jerry Bloechle, director of operations for AFOSI Detachment 512. It was determined the reward was necessary because Parrott must serve his time for his crime and his desertion is detrimental to good order and discipline in the Air Force.

"To the best of our knowledge he has not committed any acts of violence," he said.

Special Agent Bloechle said AFOSI is committed to the pursuit of Airman Parrott in close coordination with law enforcement officers throughout the United Kingdom.

Although Parrott is not considered violent or dangerous, do not try to apprehend him. If anyone has information on him, contact the nearest local constabulary or the 48th Security Forces Control Center at 01638 52 2333 with information such as location, clothing and any other distinguishing characteristics.
