RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- Generous donations by military and civilian employees to U.S. Air Forces in Europe Family Support and Youth Programs through the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas meant more than $95,000 will benefit USAFE's overseas communities.

Ms. Renee Acosta, President and CEO of the Dept. of Defense's CFC-O campaign management organization Global Impact, presented the ceremonial check Jul. 21 to Maj. Gen William Chambers, USAFE vice commander, during her visit to component leadership in the European Command to promote the upcoming CFC-O campaign.

"The men and women of USAFE are incredibly generous year after year giving to those they may never meet," said Ms. Acosta.

FSYP contributions directly impact families and children transitioning to and living in overseas communities by funding programs that provide child care, offer emergency assistance, support recreational activities and improve facilities.

Playgrounds, youth sports supplies and equipment, computers for youth education programs, a dance floor for a youth center, deployment reintegration programs for sponsors and family members, and lending closet items, are just a few examples of what FSYP donated funds have provided in past years for USAFE installations.

FSYP is not just for families and youth but for single Airmen also. Holiday programs and dormitory outreach activities for single Airmen are some other activities made possible by FSYP.

Every cent that's donated to FSYP through CFC-O returns to the installations where the donations were made. What the members at each base collectively put in is how much each base will receive of the more than $95,000.

Contributors have the opportunity to give each year during the CFC-O campaign which begins Oct. 5 and runs through Dec. 4.

Contact your CFC-O keyworkers in the upcoming months for more details.
