Communications officials announce annual award winners

U.S Air Forces in Europe Communications officials announced the winners for annual communications awards Jan 20.

"Congratulations go out to not only the winners, but also to all nominees for their outstanding efforts, said Col. Nancy Reeves-Flores, USAFE Communications director. "The awards process was extremely competitive and reflected the truly outstanding accomplishments of our USAFE Communications and Information professionals."

The winners of the General John P. Jumper Award for Excellence in Warfighting Integration, recognizing individuals for sustained superior performance and outstanding contributions to the integration of Air Force warfighting and/or operations support capabilities that shorten the kill chain and/or enhance the decision cycle are:

The Air Force Information Dominance Annual Awards recognizes Air Force officers and enlisted members, federal civilian employees, teams, and units for sustained superior performance while providing information dominance and cyberspace operations to Air Force and Department of Defense missions and operations.

The individual award winners, recognizing officers, federal civilian employees, and enlisted members working in information dominance and cyberspace operations, and support career fields for sustained superior performance and contributions that benefited the Air Force and DoD missions and operations are:

The Information Assurance Award Categories recognize an individual and an element for sustained superior performance and professional excellence while performing and managing IA programs and whose contributions most improved the security of information systems at the base, major command, Air Force level, and national level, or the security of the United States government information:

The Information Dominance Team Award recognizes a group of Air Force information dominance personnel brought together to work as a team (tiger team) for accomplishments associated with a one-time, nonrecurring special project, process improvement, short-term endeavor that resulted in tangible or intangible benefits to the Air Force and produced goal-oriented results that, when put in place, would significantly improve information dominance/cyberspace to Air Force and DoD missions and operations:

The Information Dominance Unit Awards recognizes large and small cyberspace/information dominance squadrons for sustained superior performance and professional excellence while managing core cyberspace and/or information dominance functions, and for contributions that most improved Air Force and DoD operations and missions:

- Air Force Major General Harold M. McClelland Award: 1 CBCS, Ramstein AB, GE

- Air Force Lieutenant General Harold W. Grant Award: 48 CS, RAF Lakenheath, UK

The Postal Facility Awards recognizes military post offices for superior performance and professional excellence while managing and providing a full range of post office services to the populace and whose contributions most improved Air Force postal services operations:

- Air Force Outstanding Large Postal Facility: 31 CS, Aviano AB, IT

- Air Force Outstanding Small Postal Facility: 65 CS, Lajes AB, PT

The MAJCOM Work Center Awards recognizes the efforts of USAFE work centers for sustained superior performance and professional excellence in accomplishing information dominance and/or cyberspace operations:

- Small Work Center: Executive Communications Support, HQ USAFE/DS, Ramstein AB, GE

- Medium Work Center: 1 CBCS Operations Work Center, Ramstein AB, GE

- Large Work Center: 86 CS Ramstein Teleport Gateway, Ramstein AB, GE

These winners will represent USAFE at the next level of competition with nominees from across the Air Force.

USAFE/A6 will recognize the command winners at the annual USAFE Information Dominance Awards event on March 24 at the Ramstein O'Club.
