52nd Fighter Wing arrives in Portugal for Flying Training Deployment

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany --

U.S. Air Force aircraft and Airmen assigned to the 480th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, are participating in a flying training deployment to Monte Real Air Base, Portugal. The training will focus on maintaining joint readiness while building interoperability capabilities with NATO and other U.S. Air Force assets.

The FTD will also evaluate aircraft and personnel capabilities, practice agile combat employment, and train in NATO operations with the 201st and 301st Portuguese Air Force Fighter Squadrons. Through strengthened relationships and engagements with our allies, the U.S. and NATO demonstrate our shared commitment to a peaceful, stable and secure Europe.
