DREAMS COME TRUE AT LAJES

Michael, son of Chief Master Sgt. Kenneth Longacre of the 65th Mission Support Group, takes the oath of enlistment here Feb. 6, administered by Col. Roderick Dorsey, 65th MSG commander. Michael, soon-to-be Air Force member after his basic training, took the oath of enlistment into the Air Force’s Delayed Enlistment Program after deciding to follow in his father’s footsteps. According to the Chief, Michael decided to join the Air Force on his own but not without advice from the chief. “Michael entered Junior ROTC during his sophomore year and had his eye on enlisting ever since,” said Chief Longacre. “My main advice was on job selection; he decided on SATCOM (Satellite Communications) or Avionics, both career fields that I've been in.” (Photo by Guido Melo)
