Hero's Story Comes to Life

Capt. Jason Powell, 435th Contingency Response Group operations officer, received a first-edition copy of "Into the Mouth of the Cat," when he was 13 years old. The book, which tells the story of Capt. Lance P. Sijan, inspired him to become an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Powell met the man who helped tell this story, retired Capt. Guy Gruters, during a POW/MIA event held at Ramstein Air Base Sept. 21. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Tyrona Lawson)
