  • 435th CRS teaches offload methods in Poland

    With aircraft engines roaring, Airmen are pushed by the wind and exhaust as they communicate through hand signals while performing a combat offload at the end of the taxiway. During Aviation Rotation 19-3, a bilateral training exercise to improve joint functions between the U.S. and Polish militaries, members from the 435th Contingency Response Squadron worked to teach combat offload procedures at Powidz Air Base, Poland.

    Lt. Gen. Warren Berry, deputy chief of staff for Logistics, Engineering & Force Protection, visited with Team Mildenhall Airmen to learn of the base's latest innovation and renovation efforts. Berry is responsible to the Chief of Staff for leadership, management and integration of Air Force logistics readiness, aircraft, munitions and missile maintenance, civil engineering and security forces, as well as setting policy and preparing budget estimates that reflect enhancements to productivity, combat readiness and quality of life for Air Force people.

    The world’s largest military air show brought nations from all over the world to RAF Fairford for the Royal International Air Tattoo July 19-21.  RIAT 2019 commemorated 70 years since the formation of NATO, and 50 years since the first manned moon landing. The three-day event saw more than 175,000 attendees and 245 different aircraft from 39 air arms, which represented 25 nations. From those nations, 48 air chiefs or their representatives attended the show.

  • Aviation Rotation 19-3: Portraits in Poland

    Airmen assigned to the 86th Airlift Wing deployed to Powidz Air Base, Poland, to support the 52nd Operations Group Detachment 1 during Aviation Rotation 19-3, a bilateral training exercise with their Polish counterparts. Approximately 100 Airmen from more than 10 Air Force specialties supported the endeavor to complete mission objectives.
