Ciero took over as director on March 15, 2019, and hosted the reception to meet civic leaders and discuss the unique role the U.S. visiting forces have throughout the United Kingdom.

    A B-52H Stratofortress from Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, made an unexpected appearance on the RAF Mildenhall flightline June 17, 2019, after experiencing an in-flight emergency, but landed safely and no one was injured.   • Innovation at its finest: MJ-1 STEP

    Munitions Airmen often use the MJ-1 series bomb lift truck to help transport, load and unload a wide variety of munitions and other supplies. Typically, a ladder is used to make small adjustments for precise positioning of supplies during loading. But now, members from the 31st Maintenance Squadron are innovating a locally manufactured platform called the MJ-1 STEP. It’ll be attached to the front wheel area of the MJ-1, where the weapon troops can step up on, eliminating the need for a ladder.

    The 39th Logistics readiness Squadron is made up of four flights. Within the squadron individual flights such as individual protection equipment, hazardous materials pharmacy and distribution and deployment provide Incirlik Air Base services to keep the Airmen ready to complete various missions across the installation.
