    Military Personnel Exchange Program officers strengthen partner countries’ military response

    U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa Airmen around the theater have played a variety of roles in supporting the Department of Defense COVD-19 response. Several Airmen, however, have had the unique opportunity to directly assist the Italian air force, the French air force and the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force in their response efforts.

    Security Forces augmentees support base defense

    The 48th Security Forces Squadron mission is to protect and defend U.S. Air Force in Europe’s largest fighter wing from possible risks. However, in times of increased threat levels or reduced manpower, an augmentation program is needed to fulfill the need for additional personnel to support installation-level force protection requirements.

    501st mission partner innovates against COVID-19 spread

    With COVID-19 creating difficulties and instability in global supply chains, healthcare workers around the globe are challenged to keep up with increasing demands for personal protective equipment. James Anderson is a mission partner to the 501st Combat Support Wing, where he works as a geospatial intelligence analyst at RAF Molesworth’s U.S. Africa Command Directorate for Intelligence. In the face of this need, he has voluntarily created and donated over 1000 protective face shields for medical personnel in the local community to protect against the COVID-19 pandemic.
