Chief Master Sergeant JOSHUA J. WIENER

Chief Master Sergeant Joshua J. Wiener is the Command Chief for United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As the command chief, he is the senior enlisted advisor to the commander on all matters affecting the readiness, training, professional development and effective utilization of more than  5,000 total force personnel. Additionally, he coordinates with the headquarters staff, commanders, and senior personnel on development and implementation of command policy and direction. As the air component senior enlisted leader to both United States European Command and United States Africa Command, the Chief champions and directs enlisted theater security engagement efforts, as well as building partnership capacity in an area of responsibility comprising 104 countries spanning 19 million square miles.

Chief Wiener enlisted in the Air Force in September 1998 as an Aerospace Propulsion Apprentice. During his tenure in the Air Force, he has worked, followed, and led at the section, flight, squadron, group, wing, numbered air force, and major command levels, always focused on taking care of Airmen, growing future leaders and executing full-spectrum maintenance and operations on a multitude of Air Force aircraft and MAJCOMs. Chief Wiener has deployed three times in his career, to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia during Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq during Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and FREEDOM SENTINEL, and finally to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates during Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and SPARTAN SHIELD. Prior to this assignment he was the Command Chief at 9th Air Force / U.S Air Forces Central and lead through Operations ROUGH RIDER, MIDNIGHT HAMMER, and EPIC FURY.
