LIEUTENANT COLONEL JASON B. EVANS
Lt. Col. Jason Evans is the Director of Staff, Operations, Strategic Deterrence, and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. He directs staff from the headquarters and the 603rd Air Operations Center, providing integrated air and missile defense, aeromedical evacuation, space and cyberspace operations, aerial refueling, weather, combat aerial delivery, operational support airlift and distinguished visitor airlift, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and precision strike in the European and African Commands.
Lt. Col. Evans is a 2004 distinguished graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has performed instructor and evaluator duties in the KC-135 at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., Kadena Air Base, Japan, and Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He then went on to be an Honor Graduate from the Air Force Institute of Technology’s Advanced Study of Air Mobility Program. Immediately following, as the INDOPACOM Deputy Desk Officer, Joint Chiefs of Staff, J7, he implemented the Chairman’s Joint Training Policy, provided insight for Joint Doctrine development, and he led design, planning and execution of combatant command exercises in the Pacific. Following his joint tour, he commanded the 56th Air Refueling quadron—the Air Force’s inaugural KC-46 squadron and formal training unit. After command, he was a Grand Strategy student, Air War College, Maxwell AFB, Ala. Prior to his current position, the Lieutenant Colonel was the Deputy Chief, Air Mobility Division for the 603d Air Operations Center, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Lieutenant Colonel Evans is a command pilot with more than 3,600 flying hours in the T-6, T-1, KC-135 and KC-46. He has combat experience in Horn of Africa, Operation ENDURING FEEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
