4/4/2012 - RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- A U.S. Air Force remote-piloted MQ-9 crashed into the ocean in the vicinity of the runway at Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahe at 2:40 p.m. Seychelles local time today.

The MQ-9 was not armed and no injuries were reported. The Government of Seychelles was immediately notified, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Seychelles along with the U.S. Air Force are coordinating the removal of debris.

The cause of the incident is unknown and currently under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
