10/18/2011 - U.S. Army Col. D. Peter Hemlinger, commander of United States Army Corps of Engineers Europe, U.S. Air Force General Mark A. Welsh III, USAFE commander, Col. Peter F. Davey, 603rd AOC commander, Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, 3rd Air Force commander, and Maj. Gen. Margaret Woodward, 17th Air Force commander commemorate the opening of the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center (AOC), Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Oct. 7, 2011. The 603rd AOC is now responsible for U.S. air operations for European and Africa Commands areas of responsibility, to include 105 countries.
