U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band to perform in Ukraine

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (Aug. 21, 2017) – The U.S. Air Forces in Europe Concert Band is scheduled to perform with the Ukrainian Presidential Orchestra, Aug. 24 in Kiev, Ukraine.

In addition, the USAFE traditional jazz band, Wings of Dixie, is scheduled to perform with the Ukrainian National Philharmonic Aug. 25.

The performances align with the Ukrainian Independence Day on Aug. 24 and demonstrate U.S. support to Ukrainian independence, democratic development, prosperity and security.

The USAFE band serves to increase cultural ties and enhance relationships between the U.S. and Ukraine. This is the second time this year the band has scheduled musical engagements in country, with 2017 marking the 25th anniversary of bilateral relations between the U.S. and Ukraine.
