2009 National Police Week kicks off with a Ruck March Competition

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Airmen from RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall participated in a 5K Ruck March competition here May 11, 2009. This event was one of several events to take place as part of the 2009 National Police Week May 11 to 15. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. The 48th Medical Group received 1st place, the 48th Operations Support squadron, and 100th Security Forces Squadron placed 2nd and 3rd.
