    Modern-day slavery: Spangdahlem recognizes National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

    Despite centuries of efforts to rid the world of slavery, it continues to exist today. According to the International Labor Organization, human trafficking and forced labor generates $150 billion in profits annually from the enslavement of approximately 21 million people. That is more profit than is made by Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Verizon and AT&T combined. All from 21 million people — about the population of the state of New York — in modern slavery. Human trafficking cases include sex trafficking of both adults and children, forced labor, and debt bondage, among others.

    As U.S. Air Force Airmen, it is our job to meet the Air Force’s priorities of restoring readiness, strengthening alliances, driving innovation and developing exceptional leaders. With innovation and readiness at the forefront of our force, one U.S. Air Force Airman found a way to use those ideas to aid Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, by developing a solution to improve tomorrow’s readiness.     Mildenhall Chaplain changes lives for three decades

    “I knew my life’s calling, but I tried to run from it as far as I could for as long as I could,” said Chaplain Capt. Kennie Neal, 100th Air Refueling Wing chaplain. “I knew I was called to minister the Gospel, and my ministry was the Air Force.” Chaplain Neal spent 23 years in the enlisted force and decided to see what the officer side was like from a spiritual perspective.

    Command, Control: Mildenhall Airmen train for the worst, expect the best

    The day was no different to any other, but by the end of it, the United States, and the way most Americans went about their lives, would never be the same. Innocent lives had been lost, a new enemy suddenly appeared and the way in which battles take place would change across the globe.

    Swedish pilots presented with U.S. Air Medal

    Four Swedish air force pilots received U.S. Air Medals here during a ceremony on Nov. 28, 2018, recognizing their actions that took place over 31 years ago. Until last year the details of their mission remained classified.
