Deployed A-10 has minor accident in Estonia

An A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft assigned to the 104th Fighter Squadron, Maryland Air National Guard, involved in training operations off the Jagala highway in Estonia today made contact with an object on the pre-coordinated training area at roughly 3:15 p.m. local time.

No individuals on the ground nor the pilot were injured.

Alongside our Estonian partners we are conducting an assessment to determine the extent of the damage.  The incident is currently under investigation.

Highway landings like this are an important way for aircrews to train to this skillset in a realistic training environment.  The A-10s will be deployed in Estonia until 20 August, 2017.
