Polish AvDet Activates

LASK AIR BASE, Poland -- U.S. Air Force Col. David Lyons, left, 52nd Operations Group commander passes a guidon to Maj. Spears is the first commander of the AV DET in Poland, which will facilitate bilateral and eventually multinational joint training exercises while optimizing the use of Poland's ranges and airspace and enhancing interoperability of both countries' flight tactics and maneuvers . BERLIN - Trade show patrons from across the world visited the Berlin Air Show, commonly known as ILA 2012, to view more than 300 aircraft to include a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III from Charleston AFB, N.C. here Sept. 11. ILA 2012 is an international event hosted by Germany. More than 50 U.S. military personnel from bases in Europe and the United States were on site to showcase the various U.S. military aircraft and equipment on display.
