3/29/2013 - LAJES FIELD, Azores -- The 65th Logisitics Readiness Squadron is responsible for maintaining government vehicles for the 65th Air Base Wing at Lajes Field. Portuguese local nationals and uniformed Airmen work hand-in-hand in these shops to keep Lajes' vehicle fleet running to enable wing support to U.S., NATO, and third nation aircraft transiting the Atlantic Ocean. The vehicle maintenance section performs routine maintenance and inspections on 123 vehicles per month. The vehicle operators and dispatchers are responsible for 338 government operated vehicles on base.
