9/17/2012 - RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- The 2012 Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas begins today with Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and U.S. Air Forces Africa commander, offering the first donation within USAFE.

"What's important for us all to know is that our contributions can make a significant impact in someone's life," said Breedlove. "This doesn't just stop with taking care of Airmen, retirees and civilians also benefit from CFC contributions."

CFC-Overseas takes place through Nov. 16. Military personnel and federal employees can donate to more than 2,500 local, national and international charities through the campaign. Last year, donations from USAFE alone totaled $1.94 million.

"Our goal is to make 100 percent contact amongst service members," said Master Sgt. Lawanda Parker, manager of Headquarters Military Personnel Programs.

CFC-Overseas is currently the only authorized avenue for charitable organizations to solicit to Department of Defense uniformed service members and civilian employees stationed abroad.

Contributions can range anywhere from $1 per month for a single charity to a one-time donation for multiple charities.

"We want people to realize that any pledge, no matter how small, can make a big difference," said Parker.

Contact your unit's CFC representative to receive a booklet detailing all charities and make a donation. To make contributions online, visit http://cfcoverseas.org.
