MEDCEUR 11
MEDCEUR is an annual "in the spirit" of Partnership for Peace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-sponsored regional/multilateral exercise in Central and Eastern Europe.
MEDCEUR provides medical training and operational experience in a deployed environment. It is conducted to facilitate interoperability training in disaster management and crisis response.
MEDCEUR also validates the readiness status of the surgical response team through humanitarian assistance/disaster response and/or foreign consequence management functional plans and enables interchange of medical information and techniques with partner nations. In addition, MEDCEUR directly supports US European Command's theater cooperation efforts and strategy for active security with Central and Eastern European countries.
MEDCEUR 2011 is scheduled for June 5-15, 2011. Along with the United States, partner nations this year include: Macedonia (host nation), Bosnia and Herzegovenia, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia and Slovenia.
