USAFE names Maintenance Effectiveness Award winners Published March 15, 2006 By USAFE News Service RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (USAFENS) -- U.S. Air Forces in Europe recently announced the winners of the command's 2004 Maintenance Effectiveness Awards in the aircraft and logistics support categories. The award winners are: Outstanding Maintenance Operations Squadron: 31st Maintenance Operations Squadron, Aviano Air Base, Italy Outstanding Missile/Munitions Maintenance: 48th Munitions Squadron, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England Outstanding Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance: 65th Operations Support Squadron, Lajes Field, Azores Outstanding Rotary Aircraft Maintenance: 85th Maintenance Squadron, Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland Outstanding Aircraft Maintenance (Medium): 86th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Ramstein AB, Germany Outstanding Maintenance Squadron: 86th MXS, Ramstein AB The awards recognize units that enhance maintenance readiness, improve efficiency and reduce waste by encouraging excellence in all maintenance areas. The units will now compete in the Air Force-level competition.
