Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Cruz Munoz was recently selected as the 3rd Air Force and 17th Expeditionary Air Force command chief master sergeant and assumed his new duties June 2.

As the command chief, Cruz Munoz is the senior enlisted advisor to Lt. Gen. The command is comprised of 9 wings, two groups, and the 603rd Air Operations Center.

“I’m humbled to have been selected by Gen. Clark,” Cruz Munoz said. “It’s beyond the dream to be a part of a command with such an important mission and responsibility.”
Previously, he was the 1st Special Operations Wing command chief in Hurlburt Field, Fl.

Cruz Munoz entered the Air Force in September 1990. He has served in leadership roles at the squadron, group and wing level as well as the senior enlisted advisor in Afghanistan for the Defense Contracts Management Agency. He also served as a first sergeant for four years.

He succeeds Chief Master Sgt. Phillip Easton, who was selected to serve as the USAFE-AFAFRICA command chief.
