Colonel JASON D. CHAMBERS

Col Jason D. Chambers is commander, 406th Air Expeditionary Wing. He is a prior-enlisted Survival Evasion Resistance Escape Instructor. After receiving an Airman Scholarship and Commissioning appointment, he graduated from the University of Alabama in 2001. Upon commissioning, Col Chambers was selected to attend Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, TX and Ft Rucker, AL. After graduation, he reported to the 55th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, serving there from 2003 to 2006 while taking the 55 RQS to both OEF and OIF. In 2006, he reported to the 41st Rescue Squadron, Moody AFB, GA, where he deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2010 Col Chambers was selected to Instruct at the 34th Weapons Squadron, the HH-60 division of the United States Air Force Weapons School. In 2013, he was chosen to attend Air Command and Staff College where he completed coursework in 2014. Following this assignment, Col Chambers volunteered for a remote tour to the 609th Air Operations Center where he executed planning and operations for combat search and rescue in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. In 2015, Col Chambers was selected to be the Director of Operations for the 33 Rescue Squadron in Okinawa, Japan. He served in this position until his selection for Commander, 33d RQS on 19 May 2017. In 2019, he was assigned to RAND Research Corp in Los Angeles, California for Senior Developmental Education. In 2020, he was selected for the position of Deputy, Operations Support Division at HQ USAFE-AFAFRICA. Following staff assignment, Col Chambers was selected for deployed Commander, 449 Air Expeditionary Group in the Republic of Djibouti.
